THE MARIGOLD EXPRESS

In 2019, as my Dad was cleaning out his garage, he unearthed a collection of thousands of family slides dating back to the early 1950’s and spanning nearly 4 decades. Because they were improperly stored for years, most of the slides suffered substantial water and mold damage. After sending me boxes of these slides in the mail, I have since begun the process of painstakingly organizing, cleaning, scanning, digitizing, restoring, and archiving the collection. Throughout this process I have also uncovered documentation from my Mother’s side of the family prior to World War II. This collection includes records, documents, and photographs detailing their emigration to the United States after surviving The Holocaust. This archival process continues to incorporate extensive research and interviews with family members in order to preserve the stories behind these documents and to further investigate my family’s history.
